by greater-la

Anthony Pearson was born in Los Angeles in 1969. He attended the California College of the Arts, Oakland, and earned an MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles. In a practice that focuses on photography and sculpture, Pearson revels in haptic availabilities, producing pieces that speak of the future in a primeval vocabulary – or vice versa. His work has been exhibited at Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York; David Kordansky Gallery, Los Angeles; Aspen Art Museum, Brand New Gallery, Milan, and elsewhere; it is held in the collections of Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, and Hammer Museum, Los Angeles.
