Kori Newkirk

Kori Newkirk was born in the Bronx in 1970, and attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Skowhegan School of Painting, and the University of California, Irvine. Turning at times to installation, sculpture, photography, and video, throughout his practice Newkirk consistently test ideas of identity – whether it is founded on gender, race, generation or geography. His work has been exhibited at Locust Projects, Miami; Gagosian Gallery, Los Angeles; the Studio Museum in Harlem, New York; ICA, London; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and elsewhere.
