by greater-la

Anna Sew Hoy was born in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1976. She received a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and an MFA, in 2008, from Bard College. Cords, ceramics, knits, denim and other materials often appear in Sew Hoy’s practice; her sculptures are revelatory plays on the mundane. Sew Hoy’s work has been exhibited at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; the Aspen Art Museum, CO; the Asia Society, New York; and in solo exhibitions at Sikkema, Jenkins & Co., New York; LAXArt, Los Angeles; and at Karyn Lovegrove Gallery, Los Angeles.
